My own experience in BJJ confirms that’s 3-5 sessions a week are optimal. For patients with TMJ impairments, cervicogenic headaches and cervical pain that relates to movement impairments - it just works. My suggestion - make sure athletes and patients are not sustaining high levels of intramuscular pressure for excessive times. Think about all those poor souls being tortured in gyms during plank exercises getting cramp everywhere! Doing this in the neck muscles can be somewhat problematic.
